We Need Your Help!
Due to governmental budgetary constraints much of our program costs will fall on CLAPA.  It is our responsibility as property owners and CLAPA members to maintain our lakes beauty and our investments.  Please consider volunteering for one of our many programs that will ensure the beauty of our lake for many years to come.  A few of our volunteer programs include milfoil diving, dive tending, weed watching and reporting and more.  Ask how you can help!

Membership Dues

  • Yearly membership dues for the year 2014-2015 remain at $35 and are now due.  Please bring your membership dues to the Spring Informational Meeting (see details below), give it to any CLAPA director or mail it to CLAPA, PO Box 125, Jaffrey, NH 03452.  Thank you in advance for supporting CLAPA and taking an interest in your lake!
  • Because we are a member-supported organization any additional moneys we receive over and above membership dues go directly to maintaining and supporting the cleanup activities for your lake.  Please consider an additional contribution along with your yearly membership dues.  Any amount no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.  All contributions are tax deductible.

DID YOU KNOW?

Fishing with lead sinkers in NH is illegal??  According to the N.H. Fish and Game Department, the U.S. Fishing and Wildlife Service and the Loon Preservation Committee fishing in NH waters using lead sinkers is illegal.  Within three weeks of ingesting a lead sinker a loon will die.  Please help protect our loon and familiarize yourself with these precautions http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/Fishing_PDFs/Lets_Get_the_Lead_Out.pdf

so that we preserve our current loon population on Contoocook Lake.  Below are a few more interesting sites regarding loon and their habitat:

At the DES Conference in Concord, NH on May 21, 2011 CLAPA was acclaimed as the model milfoil program in NH for our combination of diving and treatment!!  Quite an honor!  Lets keep it going!

Our lake has an infestation of the exotic weed called variable milfoil.  Want to know how you can help contain and stop the spread of this infestation?  Learn more!

A new invasive species may be coming our way. Carried by water fowl or introduced by boats in the lake, the Asiatic clam can be destructive since there are no known predators for this invasive species.
